I look down on a city full of light
This has to be a dream
I wonder if I’m really here
About to embark on the next chapter
Of the story called my life
In a place I long for
A life I’ve dreamed of
Could it really happen
Tomorrow may be the day my life changes forever

I look out to sea of black above me
Pinholes of light in the distance far below
At the end of my journey
I won’t see the stars
Just the lights of the city
I won’t see the darkness
Rather a vibrating glow
I won’t hear the silence
Just the honks of the cars
The quiet of the country nights behind me
The starlit sky hours away
Peacefullness still surrounds me
It’s just different now

Endless darkness
Pierced with pinholes of light
The vast darkness
Precludes the light of day
Providing an opportunity
To reflect on yesterday
To dream of tomorrow
To remind yourself that life is here and now
